The Simmons Foundation for Youth & Change (SFYC) will be hosting their "16th Annual Life Skills Basketball Camp," this June. The Basketball Camp will be directed by East High School Hall of Famer & 2014 State Champion, Coach Rudy Carey. The Life Skills Workshop will be conducted by Civil Rights Activist, Alvertis Simmons.
Details: Youth Ages 7 - 18 years old, Free Lunch Served Daily, $100 Free Throw Shooting Contest. There will be two field trips: A visit to the prestigious Blair Caldwell Library and a day at Skate City.
Date: Monday, June 13th, 2022 - Friday, June 24th, 2022
(Registration Ends Saturday, June 12th, 2022)
Time: 10:00AM - 3:00PM June 13th-24th
Location: East High School 1600 Esplanade, Denver CO 80206 in the gymnasium.

SFYC will be accepting the first 150 kids that register online or "in-person." Also, every parent or guardian who has a youth that participates in the camp must sign two waiver forms. A Camp/Sports related form and a CoVid-19 waiver form. Safety of the staff and kids is the number one priority. Temperature checks will be conducted before any child steps foot on the court.
In addition SYFC will host a basketball game between Simmons Foundation campers versus Law Enforcement, held June 23th, 2022. Our goal is to help inner city youth build good self-esteem, and become productive community members. We aim to help develop young people into respectful and disciplined adults.
